About BYAS

Burnie Youth Accommodation Service (BYAS): Is one of the community based organizations that make up Community Connections Inc (CC Inc).  CC Inc is a very well established, prominent Youth Service provider on the North West Coast of Tasmania.  CC Inc is now ncomposed of the following projects.  These projects are;

• Burnie Youth Accommodation Service (BYAS),
• LINX Youth Transition Support Service,
• Burnie Youth Alcohol and Drug Service,
• Project Turn-Around,
• The Diversion Project,
• Services Wroking On Community Outcomesa through Partnerships on Pathways (SWOOPP)

Services Offered by BYAS:

• Short term Crisis Accommodation for single youth aged between 13 - 20 years of age.
• Transitional Accommodation for young people aged between 15 - 20 who have an income and/or are eligible to gain an income including young couples for up to 12 months.
• LINX Youth Transitional Support Service which offers accommodation support for young people to assist them in maintaining their accommodation.  This includes advocating and negotiation with Housing Tasmania, estate agents, landlords ect.
• Refferals to appropriate organisations.
